We have the pleasure of having families whose kids We have the pleasure of having families whose kids attend the Mount Isa School of the Air, come and stay with us a few times throughout the year. (SOTA is prep – year 10 school, servicing the needs of isolated students in North West Queensland. They have 160 students (approximate current enrolment) and are drawn from a large geographical area which extends from the Gulf of Carpentaria to Birdsville and from Richmond in the East to the Territory in the west.) This week they have come together for Sports for Bush Kids. A week when the kids get to learn sports which they can’t do while living on property’s in isolated areas. A highlight of their stay is swimming in our beautiful pool…. That’s now brown 😟 Enter another local legend - Kasey from WT Potato’s has donated the use of one of her jumping castles to keep the kids entertained while staying at the park! Bush kids don’t often get the opportunity to have one of these at their doorstep and it went a long way to soften the blow of not having the pool. We put on free hotdogs and their week has had a brilliant start! Thanks so much Kasey, the kids are LOVING it! #localssupportinglocals #sunsettouristpark #gdayparks

We were honoured to have Cadet Corporal Rixon from We were honoured to have Cadet Corporal Rixon from 143 Army Cadet Unit - Mt Isa delivering home made ANZAC biscuits to our guests in the park this morning. CDTCPL Rixon attended both the Dawn Service then Parade and Morning Service before offering her time to say hello to those visiting Mount Isa. Most of our guests were at the service, and commented on what a great event that Mount Isa City Council put on and what a great community we have! They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

Well, you know we do things big here in the Outbac Well, you know we do things big here in the Outback, and delivering some more new mattresses is no exception! 😃🛌 ‘Rocket’ dropped them off on his way back to Brisbane from Darwin in his big 53m long Kenworth with 4 trailers… yep FIFTY THREE meters, that’s on top of 66 tyres you know 😳 Then of course, we put them where they belong in the only means we had… threw them on the back of the Ute! Don’t need tie downs when Ruby is in the tray holding on 😅 We are continually striving to make improvements bit by bit. You’ll love what we have in store for you this year!
